"Progressive Workplace" Allegedly Protects Harassers
For all its progressive culture, Google (Alphabet) finds itself perpetuating decades old HR traditions of protecting bullies and harassers, representing the interests of management (not employees), and forcing targets to continue to be in close proximity to perpetrators.
Kudos to Emi Neitfeld for going public with her claims and calling out this "Eighth Best Company in the World to Work At". It was a courageous act and one that exposes the reality of the sham investigations and ignorance around workplace bullying and harassment.
It's time for corporations to get smart about workplace bullying. I challenge Google human resources professionals and executive management (and other organizations like them) to take Workplace Bullying University. Change needs to start at the top.
